New magical tales fundraising for charities

New magical tales fundraising for charities

I’m absolutely delighted about the new two-book deal with Random House. As always, big thanks to my agent, Julia Churchill, for arranging the deal and to the team at Random House for making it happen. Hopefully the two books will be out in 2015, but publication dates will be confirmed nearer the time.

This time I decided to write some picture books with a more magical feel. I love the world of fantasy and I also delight in the idea that magic can touch everyday life. These two new books play with these ideas. ‘The Goodnight Star‘ is illustrated by Jane Massey and ‘Once Upon A Wish‘ is illustrated by Sara Ogilvie.

I’m pleased that both books will be supporting baby charities by donating a percentage of royalties and helping to raise awareness. ‘My Little Star‘ is supporting ICP Support. You can read an interview with the founder of the charity, Jenny Chambers, here. ‘Once Upon A Wish‘ is supporting Bliss.

As well as making a difference to these wonderful charities, my wish is that these books will bring a little magic into children’s lives. And remind us all that magic is everywhere, if you know where to look…
