Festival Fun!

Festival Fun!

Cambridge Literary Festival

Huge wellytastic thanks to everyone who came to Cambridge Literary Festival on Saturday. A special thank you to the festival for inviting me and to all the helpers who puffed up balloons, popped up stands, un-glittered the hall and pointed me in the direction of tea.

It was a wonderful day with Ellie’s Magic Wellies and great to share the launch of the book with so many children.

The calm before the splash…

I read a dramatized version of the story (any excuse to do silly voices and jump about!), and we sang a never-heard-before-because-I’ve-only-just-written-it Ellie’s Wellies song!

We also had fun creating our own special character to jump out of a puddle…

…and a special thank you to the little boy, Alex, who came up with the name of the puddlemonster!

We also made our own creatures jumping out of magical puddles…

…and had great fun doing the wonderful Ellie’s Wellies activity sheets

…and all raising funds for the fabulous charity, ICP Support.

I hope everyone enjoyed the event – happy puddle-jumping!

Ellie’s Magic Wellies‘ fantabulously illustrated by Nick East, published by Egmont.
