Exciting charity news!

Exciting charity news!

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve been fundraising for different charities. As my time for active fundraising is rather limited at the moment, I’ve decided to give a percentage of my royalties to charity.

I’m delighted to be able to do this. I’m focusing on charities or organisations which are concerned with saving the lives of babies or small children, something which is very close to my heart. I just love the idea that when my books are bought, they will give a little something back to help babies and children who are struggling to survive. There are so many wonderful charities and organisations which are desperately in needs of funds to undertake vital research or offer crucial support to children or their parents. As well as giving financial support, I also hope that by publicly acknowledging the charities or organisations, my books will help raise their profile.

It’s all exciting stuff! And all this will kick off with my next book, ‘Gruff’s Guide to Secret Sea’ which is out in February 2012. Thank you to Meadowside Children’s Books (Gruff’s publisher) for helping to make this happen. For ‘Secret Sea’, a percentage of the royalties will go to OC Support UK. OC (obstetric cholestasis) is a complex liver condition I suffered from in all of my pregnancies. It is associated with premature labour and stillbirth and more research is desperately needed to ensure every OC baby makes it home. For more information, please click here.

I’ve set up a new ‘Charities’ page  and I’ll be updating this with links and information as my new books are published. Watch this space!
