All that glitters is not gold…!

All that glitters is not gold…!

Well, things have been really busy lately. As well as writing, teaching and planning, I’ve also been out and about! Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of taking my first book, ‘Hodge the Hedgehog’ to Totnes Children’s Centre. The children were wonderful and we had a fantastic time. A very big thank you to Caroline for organising the event and to everyone who took part. I was particularly touched that the staff had decorated the story room in beautiful woodland colours with leafy fabric and woodland character soft toys . I think my soft toy ‘Hodge’ felt most at home. Needless to say, as with every Amy Sparkles event, the children, the staff, the floor, the story room and pretty much most of Totnes ended up covered in glitter! But I like to think that adds a bit of magic to the event.

Then on Friday, I was invited to take ‘Gruff’s Guide to Fairy Tale Land’ to Bickleigh Pre-School. (Yes…bring forth the glitter!) A big thank you to Jenn for organising it and to all the pre-school children for being so fabulous. They did some impressions of the characters that Gruff meets and I can tell you, they were very convincing! We had such a great time, I’ve been invited to go back again with ‘Gruff’ to Year 1 where I shall leave a gloriously glittery trail behind me again, no doubt. Maybe for a change, I should bring a real goat with me, to play the part of ‘Gruff’. Although, I’m not sure what kind of glorious trail he might leave behind. Perhaps we’d better stick to glitter…
